Fresh Voice:

In today’s world, it is easy for our voices to be swept up in the chaos and distractions around us rather than resting in the stillness of God’s spirit. I am guilty of letting myself get caught up in political agitation, feeling anger at attacks on my Christian beliefs, and taking offense at harsh words from those who dislike the gospel. Jesus did say they hated him first.

I lived in a bubble—a protected environment—where it seemed acceptable to disagree as long as we remained civil. But this so-called bubble was an illusion, meant to give me false security, leading me to believe that freedom to worship was unthreatened and the right to disagree was always possible.

It is time for me to pop the bubble I live in and breathe in the freshness of God’s Word. We are at war with this world, but God said not to fret because of evildoers. Be not envious toward wrongdoers. For they will wither quickly like the grass. Ps 37:1. This season seems long; I saw a need for change with Ross Perot. This verse is not a reason to step into another bubble, but to gain a fresh perspective on the troubled times or season we live in. Intake the freshness of God’s Word daily to find rest for what troubles your soul. Be ready!

In the midst of the chaotic world, God reminds us in Isaiah 30:15, ‘In repentance and rest you shall be saved, in quietness and trust is your strength.’ (This verse reminds me of Ben Carson.) Even if I cannot grasp all the world’s turmoil, I know that by seeking Jesus daily, I gain a new perspective. No matter the season of life, it is God who prepares the heart for salvation.

A lot of truth here. I often wonder where we would be today if Ben Carson had won four years ago? But none of this is a surprise to God. Blessings! FMF#36
