October Collections

little ones frolic
under silvery moonbeams
disguised, free to roam

Hmmm?
Can we be certain?
a trick or a treat
Beware!

autumn’s first blast
landing cold and clean
about time

  butterflies depart
complementary morning light
wind song shift,

falls arrives with a migratory wind song
Imaginative trails
laced with ice feathers,
ghost treasures.
(Bleu_Owl: Ghost)
reflective thoughts
skipping island to island
cloud's illusions
needles sway
sienna settles in
yawning deeply

Halloween comes once a year
when certain creatures reappear.
Pumpkin faces scare the dead,

filling ghouls full of dread.
Jack-O-Lanterns fool the gnome,

we’re disguised, free roam.
Around the corner, house in sight,

dare we run with all our might.
Safe inside, we dance with glee.

Jack-O-Lantern smiles at me.

Disguised, free roam,
Jack-O-Lanterns fool the gnomes,
dare we run. #HaikuSaturday Rewrite of the above poem to a Haiku.
The Halloween Parade by R. Bronte Brown

Pumpkin lanterns glimmer golden and bright.
Halloween's excitement fills the valley tonight.

But who is stirring in the dark
?

Vincent, the bat, roams the skies by night.
Luna seeks a moonbeam to steady her flight.

Pumpkin Pete sits in a patch looking grim,
wishing to beam at guests entering the inn.

Nettie, the spider, tosses silk threads
and the wind sweeps her across the farmstead.

On one spooky Halloween night,
friends wander under the moonlight.

They all gather at the inn,
for Halloween fun, found within.

Lanterns glow golden and bright
Laughter rings out through the night.

Autumn Dance Off by Rhonda Brown

There’s nothing like a country bear
dancing at the county fair.

Joining in, a city sow
twirling to a graceful bow.

Hand-in-hand promenade stance,
two partners, ready to dance.

A two-step wiggle-bop,
jumping to a wobble-hop.

Polly pocket shuffle scoot,
showing off in leather boots.
